Types of AEO certificates

There are two types of certificates, based on requirements and the benefits they bring:

• Authorised Economic Operator Customs Simplification Certificate (AEOC). (Type C)

• Authorised Economic Operator Security and Safety Certificate (AEOS). (Type S)

When an operator applies for both types simultaneously, customs will process a combined AEOC and AEOS authorisation, which, solely for IT purposes, will be processed as a type F authorisation by customs. Legally, the authorised economic operator will possess two separate authorisations, one type C and one type S.
