Maintenance of AEO status

  • Once the certificate has been obtained, it is necessary to ensure the maintenance of all criteria audited by customs, and any relevant changes must be communicated to the AEO Sub-directorate.
  • Customs authorities will reexamine the conditions and criteria to be met when:
  1. There is a significant modification in the corresponding community legislation.
  2. Reasonable indications arise that the AEO no longer complies with the applicable conditions and criteria.
  • There is also the possibility of voluntary reevaluation (modification of organisational structure, changes in activity, personnel, systems, etc.).

Employees must be familiar with the general procedures of the AEO programme, the implementation of security measures, receive training on the AEO programme, report potential irregularities, new proposals, etc.
